Happy New Year!
As we venture into 2008 it is difficult to do so without a certain amount of apprehension. With the ongoing credit crunch, and the stock market and house prices in disarray, it is difficult to be positive about the year ahead. But do not fear, the online world does not always mirror the real world, and we have included below some reassuring facts that may just stop you running for cover.

- Internet sales between 1 October and 31 December hit £15.2bn, up from £9.61bn a year earlier.
- For every pound spent on goods in 2007, 15 pence was spent online, up from 10 pence a year earlier.
